Some help please.
You will need to provide more information than that. What operating system are you using? Did you have any problems during download that may have corrupted the file? Have you tried re-downloading the file on the off chance that your download was corrupted during transmission? The error message seems to indicate that you have a corrupted file.
Some help please.

Well, you were right. I downloaded the file to a different machine, and then it behaved properly. Sure enough, the partition in my primary hard drive is apparently gone. It used to be partitioned into Drive C at 4 gig and Drive D at 2 gig. Now I can see in the Setup Utility that it is a 6 gig drive. Now the machine won't boot.
Dell Optiplex
Celleron
Win 2000
Please provide some suggestions that will not result in loss of C drive data and programs.
Thanks.

WreckDisk is for removal of all partitions on a single physical drive. IT DOES NOT PRESERVE ANY DATA by design.
There are a couple ways you can combine two partitions into one.
1) Make a drive image to CD or DVD of your boot partition using a tool like Norton Ghost from a boot disk, not from your running windows. Use wreckdisk to wipe all partitions, then restore the drive image. Most drive imaging programs will allow you to restore to a larger partition. I do this a lot using a Ghost version 10 boot diskette and a DVD/RW drive.
2) Empty the contents of the non-booting partition. Use disk management software to delete the non-booting partition and then use disk management software to expand the existing bootable partition to use all available space. I think WinXP has disk management software that will allow you to do this. If not then you will have to purchase something like PartitionMagic from Symantec or Acronis Drive Imaging tool.
